From humble beginnings as a pot-wash in a small Italian restaurant, Nathan had the privilege of watching and learning from the chefs in action.
The energy and innovation in the kitchen ignited his passion for cooking and miraculously one extraordinarily busy night provided Nathan with the opportunity to assist and run the pass.
As fate would have it, a well-known South African Chef, Garth Stroebel, was dining at the restaurant that evening. He wanted to thank the Head Chef and to his great surprise was introduced to the pot-wash turned chef. And so, began a great love affair with food.
Going from strength to strength this young chef embarked on a journey of success, winning, to name a few, the Young Chef Award and Best Steak – Steak House of the Year award, not just once but four times in a row. Nathan is also very well known for his Award-Winning Deep-Fried Oysters.
Whilst working at an exclusive five-star lodge in the Kruger National Park, Nathan had the honour of cooking privately for some well-known actors and pop stars including Elton John, Liz Hurley, Justin Bieber, John Travolta, and U2’s Bono.
